If you are looking for a movie that can uplift your spirit without needing to endure a lot of fluff, then this movie is definitely for you. Even though the story line is pretty close to The Blind Side, the movie can definitely stand on its own.
One of the main reasons why is that it had a powerful cast. Even though Paul Giamatti is not really considered as one of the hunks in Hollywood, that does not stop him from giving a swell performance in all of the movies that he is in and this movie is not an exception. Speaking of great performances, Amy Ryan was also incredible. Her presence was powerful and her part was well laid out.
What you will love about this movie is that you don’t have to be a wrestling fan in order to enjoy it. You can watch the film even if you know nothing of the sport. This will not stop you from seeing the true heart of the movie which is all about the fortunes and the misfortunes of a kid with simple dreams played by Alex Shaffer.
You won’t be disappointed by Shaffer’s performance as well. Even though he is relatively new in making movies that did not stop him from putting on a great show. You might need a tissue box if you have a soft spot for dramas that reflect on people’s everyday lives. It has its ups and downs and the best part is that the characters’ struggles are something that a lot of people can relate to.
