Just like any circus movie, Water for Elephants has animals, people who love animals and people who are cruel to animals. In the frontline of the people who love animals, you have Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson. As for the people who are not really fond of animals, you have Christoph Waltz.
The movie shows what it is like during the early parts of the Great Depression that hit America hard a couple of decades back. And just like any movie that is set in this time frame, you will be able to witness the stories of people who do not have homes or a stable job. Not the easiest thing to see especially if you are one of those who really hate the financial depression that the world is in right now.
Another thing that you might possibly hate about the movie is the part where the antagonist beats up the poor elephant right in the middle of the movie. However if you do not really appreciate elephants, you might change the way you look at them by the end of the movie.
If you are looking for a movie that can pull your heartstrings or if you simply want to see Rob and Reese in a steamy love scene, you might want to watch this movie. If you are looking for a very deep storyline that is similar to what Jane Austen novels have, then you might not find this movie very fascinating to watch. Then again, who minds seeing Reese and Rob doing the deed in a musty hotel room?
