The Fighter is a sports drama movie that opened in theaters on the 10th of December 2011. The movie was directed by David O’Russell. The movie cast includes Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, and Melissa Leo.
The movie is about two brothers, Micky and Dicky. Micky Ward is being trained by his older brother Dicky Eklund (half-brother) in boxing. With their mother, Micky is an average boxer but his career has been flailing under the tutelage of his mother and half-brother. . Dicky on the other hand had a taste of success in boxing but was pulled down due to his addiction in cracked cocaine. Micky started questioning his career when he was pushed against an ill-match game which left him defeated once again. He was offered to be trained in Vegas but Dicky matched the offer. But all lead into more frustration and led to Dicky being behind bars. Will there be another chance for Micky?
The movie won awards both for best actor (Christian Bale) and best supporting actress (Melissa Leo). This is a movie that you will want to watch. It has drama and gives you a feeling of satisfaction by just watching the movie. This is, indeed, a feel-good movie that is worth watching.
