Zookeeper (2011) came out in theaters on the 8th of July 2011 and this movie was made under the collaboration of a few production companies. It was headed Happy Madison and together with Metro Goldwyn-Mayer and Columbia Pirctures.
This is a comedy movie that is headed by Kevin James, playing the lead role. The cast also includes Rosario Dawson, Leslie Bibb, Donniw Wahlberg, and Steffiana De La Cruz. It also features the voices of Sylvester Stallone, Adam Sandler, Cher, Nick Nolte, Bas Rutten, and Maya Rudolph.

The movie is about a man who was dumped by his girlfriend due to his job as a zookeeper. Five years later, still working in the zoo, he gets another chance to get back with his ex-girlfriend. However, he has to resign from being a zookeeper. The animals intervened upon knowing his plans. They broke their code about not talking to humans. Then everything turned topsy-turvy. On his path to get back to what he lost, a revelation was made.

Zookeeper (2011) is a feel good movie about love and unusual friendship. Everyone should watch out for this great and fun movie. You will definitely enjoy the thrills of seeing the twist and turn of events. It is something that your whole family can just sit back and watch.

True Grit first opened in theaters on the 22nd of December 2010. It is a western / adventure / action / drama / adventure movie. It was made under the direction of Joel and Ethan Coen. The cast includes Matt Damon, Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin, Barry Pepper, and Hailee Steinfeld.

The story reveals the life of a young girl whose father was murdered by their hired hand. Mattie was only 14 when Tom Chaney killed his father. She decided to go after his father’s killer by hiring Rooster Cogburn but he rebuffs her offer. One day, Texas Ranger LaBoeuf came into town to hunt Chaney. He asked Mattie to work with him but she declined since she knows her father’s killer will be put in jail for another reason. Finally, Cogburn made a pact with her but to her dismay he went with the Texas Ranger. She went after him and went into an adventure that changed her life forever.

This is a compelling movie that was nominated for various awards. It brings you into a world of a child that struggled for justice for her father’s death. Hailee Steinfeld played the character well. The movie will transport you into the world of the West.

TRON Legacy is a 3D film from Walt Disney. This is a sequel movie to TRON in 1982. It is a fantasy / adventure / action film that was made under the direction of Joseph Kosinski. The movie opened on theaters on the 17th of December 2010. The cast includes Garrett Hedlund, Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner, Michael Sheen, Beau Garrett, and James Frain.

The movie is about Sam who was orphaned when his father mysteriously disappears. He was left with a company called ENCOM but he refused to take part of it. He only visits the company on annual basis to make pranks on it. His father’s old friend and an executive of ENCOM visited him and inform Sam that he had received a page from his father’s old office. Spurred by the turn of events he went to the old arcade and discovered an entrance to the Grid. There he encountered another world run by a program his father made named Clu. He stumbled into a different world with the hopes of finding his father in it.

The story of the movie is quite unrealistic still the 3D effects made it worthwhile. This movie is regaled with great scenes that render a feast for the senses. The movie provides cheap thrills that made it worth your time to watch.

Released on June 29, 2011, Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon has been performing excellently at the box office hitting an opening week record of $180,651,397. The PG 13 rating stamped on it did not seem to affect its box office appeal. On the contrary, the excitement imbedded in the violent scenes appeared to have elevated the scenes of chaos and mass destruction into classic attractions throughout the film. And it seemed to have paid off as the queues are getting longer.

Personally, what I missed most in the movie is the beautiful Megan Fox. Model Rosie Hunington-Whiteley, in her big screen debut, at least managed to look sweet, but has hardly given justice to her role. Or am I being biased because I am a Megan Fox fan?

Transformers 3 is indeed a no-nonsense action movie dominated by the robot characters in the 1st and 2nd releases and likewise some new comers. The love angle was somewhat low-key, though.

Since this movie is a sequel of Transformers 2 (Revenge of the Fallen), people knows that it is about the war of the robots that are affecting the Earth and its resources. Sam Witwicky has matured in his role and the Autobots have become fiercer and more violent in this film. Compared to the past Transformers’ films, this movie depicts the stronger teamwork between the humans and the Autobots.

The good thing about this movie is that your 2 hours and 34 minutes viewing this film is worth it. Splendid 3D effects and filming efforts were excellent just to portray the almost perfect scenes, settings and lifelike tricks. In the end, it leaves a mark on people especially to the kids concerning machines transforming themselves into robots. Is that possible in real life? They might end up talking to their toys.

The Warrior’s Way is an action / fantasy / adventure film that came into theaters on the 3rd of December 2010. The said film was directed by Sngmoo Lee. The cast is headed by a Korean movie star named Jang Dong Gun. Included in the cast are Kate Bosworth, Geoffrey Rush, and Johnny Huston.

The movie is about a skilled warrior who abandoned his clan when he failed to kill the last member of an opposing clan. When he was faced-to-faced with his target, he was not able to carry-on with his mission. He was actually sent out to kill a baby. Going against the odds, together with the baby he ran off to a faraway land to keep both of them safe. There he met a few friends who helped him live a new life. But it was never safe for him and the baby. Together with his friends they fought for his new-found freedom.

The movie is infused with great death-defying stunts. The fight scenes were perfect but it never seemed to fulfill the movie-watchers expectations. It is just another film of an East-meets-West action film. Still, if you love watching flying stunts then this can be a great movie for you.

Both Angelina Jolie and Johnny Deep were the main stars in the movie, The Tourist. It first hit the theaters on the 10th of December 2010. This is a drama / action / romance / suspense / thriller movie that was directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. The cast also includes Timothy Dalton, Paul Bettany, Steven Berkoff, Christian De Sica, and Rufus Sewell.

On a train going to Venice, Elise met Frank who is an American Tourist. Elise is travelling to meet with her lover Alexander Pierce. A little flirtation took place and Frank was instantly attracted to Elise. The two kissed in Elise’s bedroom in the hotel. There were men spying on Elise due to her connection with Alexander Pierce. Frank was mistaken as Alexander Pierce. He was then chased by Belarusians. A chase ensued, that led to Elise saving Frank. As Frank was engulfed in Elise’s world everything became more complicated. It seems everything was just a façade and all was revealed in the end.

The Tourist is a riveting movie that will intrigue you in every way. It is a must-see movie that will thrill you till the end. You will truly enjoy this fascinating movie. The fact that it was nominated for Golden Globes makes it clear that it is a movie that is truly worth watching.

The Smurfs (2011) is a movie adaptation of the Smurfs comic book series created by Peyo. Raja Gosnell directed the movie. The cast consists of Neil Patrick Harris, Hank Azaria, Jonathan Winters, Sofia Vergara and Jayma Mays. It was released, by Columbia Pictures, in theaters on the 29th of July 2011.

It is a time of preparation for the most awaited Blue Moon Festival when the evil wizard Gargamel hunt down all the blue Smurfs and drives them out of their village. They run into a forbidden cave where they were accidentally sucked up into a giant vortex leading them right in the middle of Central park, New York City. Stuck and dangerously being hunted by Gargamel, they desperately search for the magic spell to let them get back to their village while staying complete and close with each other. The whole film run into a crazy adventure as they discover the real meaning of friendship and family.

The Smurfs is a movie with moral lessons that families could benefit from especially when it comes to learning the value of friendship. You children and even the whole family would love watching this animated film. Let the magic and enchantment begin.

The Next Three Days was directed by Paul Haggis. This is a drama / thriller / suspense film that came into theaters on the 19th of November 2010. The casts include Russel Crowe, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson, Olivia Wilde, Brian Dennehy, and Jason Beghe.

Lara Brennan got into an argument with her boss. After his death, Lara was falsely convicted for murder. Her husband, John Brennan, struggled with raising their son. After a few years, Lara became suicidal. Their son stops acknowledging her and that was the point when John decided to break Lara out of prison. Getting advice from an ex-convict, John formulated a plan to help Lara escape from prison. Both of them and their son need new passports and visa. They also have to get new security numbers and have lots of money to live life after Lara’s prison break. Will they able to make it? Can their family live a peaceful life after the escape?

The movie has a beautiful and compelling story of how one can go out-of-bounds to save their family. Some scenes will surely have you at edge of your seat. This is a great and enjoyable movie to watch during a quiet night at home.

The Fighter is a sports drama movie that opened in theaters on the 10th of December 2011. The movie was directed by David O’Russell. The movie cast includes Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, and Melissa Leo.

The movie is about two brothers, Micky and Dicky. Micky Ward is being trained by his older brother Dicky Eklund (half-brother) in boxing. With their mother, Micky is an average boxer but his career has been flailing under the tutelage of his mother and half-brother. . Dicky on the other hand had a taste of success in boxing but was pulled down due to his addiction in cracked cocaine. Micky started questioning his career when he was pushed against an ill-match game which left him defeated once again. He was offered to be trained in Vegas but Dicky matched the offer. But all lead into more frustration and led to Dicky being behind bars. Will there be another chance for Micky?

The movie won awards both for best actor (Christian Bale) and best supporting actress (Melissa Leo). This is a movie that you will want to watch. It has drama and gives you a feeling of satisfaction by just watching the movie. This is, indeed, a feel-good movie that is worth watching.

The Beaver (2011) is a movie with a mixture of drama and a little bit of comedy that made its theatrical debut on August 6, 2011. Jodie Foster directed the movie and at the same time co-stared with Mel Gibson. Both, being a two-time Academy Award winner, played one of their most challenging roles and made it a must-see movie of the year.

The movie is about a man named Walter Black who once is a successful toy executive and has a blissful family but because of uncontrollable circumstances, he begins to fall apart and ultimately suffered a major depression. He tries to bounce back and do everything he can within his power but to no avail. At the middle of his journey to find his way back to his family and to start all over again, a beaver hand puppet becomes his sole means of comfort and communication.

The movie sends a powerful message about the diminishing values of the family. It portrays the reality one would undergo when suffering depression. Though as hard as it may seem to truly internalize and represent the indescribable melancholy of the mental state of depression, Mel Gibson has done a superb and outstanding career performance to make a genuine acting.
